With her husband, O'Pa, Grami (a.k.a. Caryl McAdoo) co-authored nine titles from four presses: two non-fictions, ANTIQUING IN NORTH TEXAS and GREAT FIREHOUSE COOKS OF TEXAS; four grown-up novels, thriller THE THIEF OF DREAMS, mystery ABSOLUTE PI, mature inspirational romance THE APPLE ORCHARD BED AND BREAKFAST, and WWII story THE PRICE PAID; and three children’s chapter books - the couple's River Bottom Ranch Stories series - THE ADVENTURES OF SERGEANT SOCKS, book one THE JOURNEY HOME and book two THE BRAVEST HEART.
Alone, Grami also writes songs and poetry and is working on a non-fiction self-help for women.
A fifteen year member of the DFW Writers' Workshop where she served eight years as a board member, Grami learned the value of good critique. In 2001, she founded Longhorn Creek Press as an avenue to earn a little more from their own writing as well as publishing other authors. To date, Longhorn has released thirteen titles from seven authors besides the McAdoos. And Grami has been editing professionally*** since it opened for writer's all over the United States.
She married her high school sweetheart in 1968, and two years ago, they moved from the DFW Metroplex to eleven acres in Red River County in far Northeast Texas where they keep horses - the characters in two of the children's books - a herd of dwarf goats the Grami milks, chickens and a variety of dogs and cats.
Besides O'Pa, Grami counts four children and twelve grandsugars her biggest blessings in life. Four of those - all boys - have lived with them for eight years now. She credits her relationship with Yeshua (Jesus' name in Hebrew, the name Mary and Joseph called Him) with all that is good in her abundantly full life.
