I wrote this in college and had it published in the campus paper. It along with some photo's of me running track made me a mini-celebrity on campus.

When we were first married
I was likened to think
Of our love as a rose
And you as the petals of pink

Like the green of the leaves
Our love was so new
That freshness was always
Coming from you

But the petals have fallen
The brown leaves have died
Now I think I'm the stem
And you're the thorn in my side

Started really sweet, bitter ending! Very pretty, not sure I'd read it to anyone though :P
