Guidance from Ivory
Lighting candles, holding stones, and rubbing troll bellies would all be welcome. I have my fingers crossed.

Hoping this does not jynx me, and it is still early in the process, but an agent has requested a full manuscript of my second novel (her exact words was that she was interested in my storyline). I'm nearing completion of the FINAL revision for my first novel, and will be sending it out shortly. (The first novel is on the long side, 160,000 words, which is why I set it aside to write and sell something shorter first.)

I finished my final revision, and have moved on to polishing the synopsis (synopsi for plural?)

Synopses is the plural. Congrats on the request for a full submission.

I'm not quite sure what to make of my situation. The agent has not called me on the phone, nor has she spontaneously written me an email, yet when I query how we are doing, she still maintains she is very interested in my book and wants to see what else I have written. She is not a major player agent or even a minor player with a major agency. Her responses have been short, but she did take the time to either type or paste the name of my book in her response, so I know she at least knows the name of the book.I think, if there is real interest, it is time to discuss a contract to represent either me or the book in question.

Sounds like you've already made more progress than a great many of us. I recently spoke with a friend who said she was putting one of her manuscripts in the drawer because she had sent it to 100 agents/editors and no one bought it. She must have a great query letter--not sure why the full manuscript would be rejected by so many agents who claimed to be interested. I've also heard about a publisher contracting to do a book--then waiting 4 years to get it out.....This can be a very trying business. Stay positive. You're on the right track.
