Wish you could hear the tune. I'm always available to share that if you want to give me a holler at 469-867-2624. I sang this for a few lady friends (new ones) recently and most of 'em had tears. It's great to grab the attention of students from Kindergarten to fifth graders : ) All critique or suggestions are always welcome.

Sergeant Socks lost his dam when only three days old. From that point on, he lived in the barn so the wrangler man could feed him bottles every day. He missed living in the psture with his herd. He missed playing and racing with the spring fillies. But most of all, little Sarge missed his mama. This is the first original song I sing in our presentation when O'Pa and I go to schools as visiting authors.
I Miss My Mama
I miss my mama.
I wish she didn’t go away.
I miss my mama.
I miss her every single day.
Although there’s others who will feed me
And others who can teach me,
Not a one of them
Could ever take
her place.
‘Cause none of them smell half as good
And none of them love me like she would
Youd on’t know what I’d give to see her face!
I miss my mama.
